    Howdy Doody Peoples :D

Just thought I would drop by and say 'Hi' to everyone :) I'm a newbie so please be gentle. Not too many questons all at once please as I have the brain capacity of a gnat and struggle to keep up. ;) Have been having a mooch around the forum and thought you seem a friendly bunch so decided to register. I have 1 old girl of a pooch and 2 parrots - one of whom has major issues with the fact that he is meant to have feathers and thinks he would be better suited to a life of an oven ready chicken, but hey - if he wants to walk round all day half naked with no shame, then who am I to stop him ;):D The other parrot is not really a parrot but a green finger nail trimmer in disguise - doesnt seem to realise that finger nails are only on the end of fingers and they dont go all the way to the knuckles, although there's time for him to learn that I suppose as he's on 8 years old. The old lady on the other hand is very sweet and loveable - thank heavens there's one animal here that copes with me. Well I'll leave it here before I bore you all silly and go continue mooching.

Lol Bodwad - Ah well I thought it was too good to be true, fancy me thinking that I could just sneak in here and just blend in unnoticed.......trust the parrot to give the game away! :D I did think of disguising him with the feather duster, but an african yellow doesn't quite have the same ring to it somehow......;):D

Carol - I am but a mere creature of simplicity....the less complex the better :D:D

Hello and welcome along - nice to have another person owned by Parrots - I have an African Grey who has all his feathers but years back I rescued a Grey who looked the same as what you have - an oven ready chicken!!!! :)

Hamish is also a rescue and he does have many more feathers than he did originally. He just refuses to stop pulling them from his chest - I think its more habit now than anything else.......either that or he just wants to show everyone what a muscly chest he has :D;)

Bah maybe he is trying to impress the other parrot by making her a very personal feather fan ;)

You destroying his gift in the making by removing them from his cage :p

Bodwad - now why didn't I think of that..... I will leave the feathers in the cage in future so that I don't destroy his efforts ;):) Although I'm not too sure the other parrot will appreciate Hamish's efforts though, he spends most of his time burrowing under the papers at the bottom of his cage, but we will see. :D :D

Thank you to every one for the warm and friendly welcome. :)

If I am right then I dont think you can use Hamish for breeding then. I also think the other parrot maybe looking for a trapdoor in the bottom...which is ironic because it sounds like hamish is looking for the same sort of thing :p

Yes I think they both have a secret escape route planned for one night when I am sleeping. As for breeding I won't be breeding any of them it's enough trouble nowadays with just the two, I really don't need any more.
