Hi I'm new to this forum just joined today.

I am the very proud owner of 2 guinea pigs called biscuit and caramel. I'm also waiting for 2 kittens to become old enough to leave their mum so will hopefully be the proud owner of 2 ragdoll xs called milo and macavity.

Sooo excited at getting the new additions to our family and keep searching the internet for ideas and stuff to buy lol

hi everyone. i have a short haired female baby guinea pig which i bought my 6 year old son 2 weeks ago. I keep her indoors and let her out of her cage twice a day and feed her all the right stuff plus fresh vegetables to try to get her used to us. She feeds from out of our hands but is extremely frightened of us. Getting her out of her cage is an ordeal for her. I keep her upstairs in my sons bedroom throughout the day to give her piece and quiet because i have young toddlers in the house also which are very loud at times and dont want the guinea pig to be even more scared.
I have read up alot about guinea pigs and they are usually very good with humans. so i need advice on how to get my guinea pig to come to me and not be terrified when its time for her to come out of her cage.
Also is this unusual for her to behave this way as when we bought her at the pet shop they put her in a large box and balanced it on a high stool so she could work the till, only the box fell off this stool from quite a way up with the guinea pig in it. could this have something to do with her being so distressed.
    Hope someone can help, thanks.
