Levi threw up yesterday morning, but seemed otherwise ok in himself. Cuddled up with my partner when she was reading at lunch time under the duvet and was still under it at supper time. That's when I noticed he hadn't eaten much of his breakfast. Brought him down, put him in front of his bowl but he just walked away and sat on the stairs looking a bit glazed... Picked him up and put him in his sleeping bag where he went back to sleep.

Tried him on one of his antiacids from the last tummy episode, no luck. Managed to give him a little water with a syringe.
Called out of hours vet, they couldn't give me any advice on the phone, just told me to bring him in, which was £199 before 10pm, medicines extra!

That's when I remembered I have access to an online vet through my yumove subscription. Took a while to get through, but she was very reassuring. Looked at a photo of his gums and said to keep giving him water little and often through the night, but to take him in if it got worse, otherwise to ring normal vet first thing.

Took him in earlier, and they are keeping him in for now. He is a bit dehydrated despite the water, and has a bit of a temperature. Makes sense that he was feeling the cold if he has a bit of a fever... It's not clear what's caused this, it seems different to his usual tummy issues. Vet will investigate pancreatitis and other similar issues.

Worried mummy here, please send your healing thoughts his way today!

Sorry Levi is poorly. Does he go outdoors where he might have picked up an infection? Hope its not pancreatitis or anything nasty. Get well soon lovely boy xx

Yes, he does and that's a concern. He's very sensitive to the wrong type of food, and what he threw up looked to me like normal cat food rather than his special raw that mostly controls his tummy trouble. My other cats have microchip feeders, so it's possible he ate something he shouldn't have had while outside, or got into a neighbour's house and ate another cat's food. It's nearly impossible to keep him in though, anyone who knows Burmese will tell you they can be exceptionally strong willed! He has tried to squeeze out of a tiny gap on a top floor window in the past... Last time he was at the vet for a few days, he pulled out a claw trying to escape!

    Thank you everyone!

Just had a chat to the vet. He can come home tonight as his temp is back in the normal range after metacam, but they want him in again tomorrow for more fluids and to keep checking his temp. If it goes up again, we do a bunch of tests. If it stays ok, we assume it was an infection, since that could have created all those symptoms...

A few more good vibes needed for tomorrow please!

He came home for the night, and was seriously pissed off that he has a bandage over the cannula so he can go back for fluids in the morning, plus an inflatable collar that I had to put on pretty quickly to stop him removing said bandage...

Pissed off is a huge improvement on this morning though, since he wouldn't have had the energy to care then!
He was hungry too, and ate about half a normal supper, wandered about looking grumpy for ages, and finally settled in one of his hidey spots...

I'm taking him back in the morning, they'll pump more fluids in through the day and check his temperature. Fingers crossed it's not high again!

Thanks everyone, Levi is doing well. His temp is normal and he's well hydrated. His body language is a bit more confident and he's eating, though not as much as usual.

No idea what caused it, fingers crossed it won't happen again!
