I have a 5 month old cockerpoo who keeps persisting on walking across the front of me when he is on the lead.

I have tried daily to get him to walk by my side, saying 'close', standing still when he pulls ahead, walking backwards when he pulls ahead and having treats in my hand to encourage him to stay by my side (that just encourages him to jump up at my hand!).

He's really good at all his other training, but lead walking is just something I don't seem to be able to master with him, and I dont know what I am doing wrong to be honest.:confused1:

Someone has mentioned that using a halti might help, but I have never used these and so dont know if they are useful or not.

I would appreciate any comments or help, thanks :)
