Hi all, I have Pippa who is an 8 months old OES. She's been 4 times and this time she was cut right back because of matts (whilst I was away, the person caring for her didn't brush her properly). Everytime she's been done they dont get the shape right particularly round the face.. i wondered if there was such groomers who would know what they were doing with an OES specifically? And if so, in the east midlands or north west? I've seen some people have said they do it themselves but I wouldbe terrible. TIA

I don't think you'll find a groomer who specialises in an oes unless they breed or show them too. Finding that person locally is unlikely.

At 8 months old her adult coat will be coming in and it is a tricky time to keep the mats at bay. After 10/12 months of age brushing will become easier. I would get a demat spray and a good quality long pin slicker and ask your groomer to show you how to brush to make sure you're getting to the base of the coat.

I'd get some style tips from some OES breeders/showers. I believe you are supposed to brush the topknot up into your fist, chop the tips off then let the hair fall into a parting. The body should have angulation that enhances the natural shape of the dog.

Maybe ring around other groomers and ask how they would trim the face as you're looking for someone who's had some experience with them.
