What happened to the long hot summers we had as kids Jan??
Oh i'm glad its not only me that remembers them. I can't ever remember summers being like they are now, when we had our summer school holidays, thats exactly what they were, SUMMER.
Singing: we had joy we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.Singing: pmsl
It was bootiful here at 5.30am....its gone downhill from there though! We had the rain at about 8.30 and since then the thunder and lightening have started!
Where has the sun gone?
Most of my summer hols were spent either at the outdoor pool/lido or at the riding stables!!! WE had a TV! but I certainly never watched it in the day!!! If I remember right you had to put two bob in the slot to watch it anyway! and I would have considered it a waste of money - prefering to ride or swim!
DT your worrying me, lol. We sound too much alike. We had a telly but we were made to go out and play, blow the cobwebs away is what my dad always said.I can remember nagging my dad to let me go swimming in the sea in the winter,he gave in pmsl it was frigging freezing.
Eerie ain't it Jan!
Just been to the shop to get my newspaper! As I was alking back I thought what a waste of money as it wsa so thin!!!! It then reminder me of my grandad! he would sit and cut the newspaper into small squares and put them on a piece of sting they would then be used as toilet paper!! when he did eventually more on to toilet paper the only one he would use was IZAL!! assumking you can remember these Jan!
OMG yes i do, and i'll confess i preferd the news paper. pmsl. Do you remember the smelly soap at school? the smell last for ages.YUK.
they did IZAL soap too! or maybe it was carbolic!!
Maybe you could start a thread asking what we can remember from our childhood Jan!
Can you remember Nitty Nora!
