Glad to see they've preserved this fossil dune

    it's among the last traces of the 5K year old shoreline, as other fossil-dunes were either bulldozed or built-upon.

    It lies on the borders of Belgium & France, & Belgium has also saved their extension from development. // This particular dune is protected from the wind by 2 other dune systems, & the regional authorities have set up a grazing rotation to prevent invasive species getting a foothold & permanently altering the landscape.
