Is he losing his balance? I would take him to the vet if I were you.
I've never experienced this before so had to look it up and it led me to this; Merck Veterinary Manual If you recognise these symptoms it's possible it could be Meningitis or Enchepalitis.
I don't want to worry you but you really should take your dog to a vet.
Really sorry to hear..we had Judy a terrier cross when i was young that was 16 and started to lose her balance..old age had just caught up with her. Would deffo phone the vet and get advice..Hope it goes ok..Big hug from Sky..
