I recently bought a new snail for my at home, community fish tank. When I purchased the snail their shell was slightly chipped along the edge by their eyes, but now I’ve noticed it seems like there’s a top layer of shell peeling off? This is only my second snail that I’ve had, and my first one didn’t seem to have any issues.

I work in an aquatic toxicity lab, so I have a good understanding of water quality, but I am new to snails. I have attached pictures. Is this something I should be concerned about? Would calcium actually help this, and if so what would be the best way to give that to my snail?
