    Yesterday we heard that there was going to be a fair in the village, i also heard that some of our community was'nt happy about it. I decided to take our grandchildren to see what was happening. On the green in the village was a few caravan's and in a fenced off area was some animal's. The two grandchildren and myself decided to investigate further, on closer inspection we found a small pen with 6 llama's, they looked matted and unkempt. The next pen held various type's of rabbit's with young. The next pen held some kind of deer,tethered to a post with no water or food.There was also a large matted dog being used to pull a mini waggon for children to ride in. So the children and i decided to join the other local's in their demonstration against the animal fair. There was'nt many of us, and the age's of the other demonstrator's ranged from 50-72 . We sat with them on the green and sang ' We shall not be moved '. It was a good result has they was asked to provide owner ship of the animal's and the RSPCA are looking in to it. Half way through our singing etc , i noticed Josh was singing ' We shall not ,we shall not be rude ' and 2 of the oldies had fallen asleep , Betty needed help to get up off the ground has she needed to ' spend a penny ' and old George was asking if there was any refreshment's to be served. It was a odd day to say the least.

    I hope it is okay for me to post this, i wanted turkey lad to hear about mine and the children's demonstration.
    I hope you are all well and keeping Red , Tashi , Vixie , Carol and Mark on their toes:p. Mac , Ella and Josh.( The terrible trio )

    Good for you :thumbup:

    I once caused a real ruckous at the Herts County Show when I started asking the hunt awkward questions. Pretty soon there was a large crowd of people spurring me on. The Huntsman was extremely rude and abusive in front of young children and told me in no uncertain words to ..... off back to the animal rights group. I have never belonged to such a group and never would since I fear they can cause more harm than good ;)

    Fantastic - everything we do to help in this world for both animals and people is always appreciated and goes to prove that not everybody in this world is just about themselves and commercialism. So proud of you all!! So glad you posted again İ love this poem and it really makes me think about your Sammy.....NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

    NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

    Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
    So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.

    Hello Christine, They are not back at school yet. They both tried half a day today but it was too soon for them. They are both quite clingy still and need a great deal of affection at the moment. Mac
