I read a thread on here last week from someone who wondered if small children and cats get along well - Yes :D

We look at these scenes and see perfect harmony with our beloved children and cats, the cats on the other hand are just seeing a large, soft mobile heat pad :D.

I still adore seeing them cuddled up together.

Love the pics! As much as my kids terrorise and over-stimulate the cats, they still love to go back to them, groom their heads (lol) and sleep on their clothing/ beds! :)

Cats and children get along great once the kids learn to stop chasing them around the place.

We had a cat briefly when I was probably around 8/9, if he slept on a bed it would be with me.

When I got my own cat aged 11 she chose me to sleep with and that carried on every night for years until I moved out.

I find that comment really weird. Where do children learn to 'chase' cats around in the first place? It isn't any normal behaviour as far as I'm concerned.

There really is nothing weird about that comment :frown5:. My 2 year 10 month old son sometimes tries to do this too. I always tell him off and put him on time out step for it as it's not a behaviour I want to continue. It's not a learnt behaviour - neither me or my husband chase our cats :rolleyes5:. I think kids think they're playing with the cats, they certainly don't do them harm in anyway and as you can see from the pics, the cats still love our kids so they can't be that put off by it!

I had three children and never did they chase the cats. Maybe I was just lucky.

Maybe. All I'm saying is that it is certainly not a 'learnt' behaviour nor an indication of bad parenting.

My daughter is a pain the ass! She just loves the cats so much that she can't resist picking them up for a cuddle when they are sound asleep . Yes she does get reprimanded! Sometimes she does really cute things like tucks them in with blankets and lays their heads on a cushion.

This is my son and Thomas from about 6 months ago. He was telling him jokes :D I don't think Thomas found them quite as funny!
