Tomorrow I have been left in charge of a juvenile bird we think is a blackbird on his way to fledging.
Does anyone have any experience with this.
I've been told to feed him every 30 mins from 6am.
He has been hopping around and flapping his wings this evening so that's a good sign.

We raised 2 blackbirds and at this stage really the regular feeds and some water is all they need :)

He's now in an old chicken run and seems to be doing well. (I've now been trusted with him until he flies away)
As well as worms and the squishy dog food from the vets is he ok to eat cut up blueberries and strawberries?

I think they naturally eat soft fruits so I don’t see any reason why not.

Just make sure they are soft and in small enough squishy pieces so they can’t choke.

Our little Prince has fledged, went to feed him earlier and he'd managed to get out of the aviary.
I could hear him cheeping in our willow.
Went to let whisp out a while later and he was on our bench begging for worms, I gave him afew and have left him with a dish of worms & water.
    Going to miss him :(.

Oh my goodness! We've just let one fledging go and another has already taken its place. A thrush this time.
We are fast turning into an animal rescue.
