surprisingly we don't see a lot if at all being worked.
But we always see them at the country shows we work at. They are always tubby for some reason
Although i saw a gorgeous male called Blake once there in mint condition and was apparently a worker :)

When i worked in kennels there was loads of them, but i havent seen one for years now.

I quite like them, very nice natured dogs but can be a little too enthusiastic.

haha i can see the hyperactivity in skye already. she has absolutely mental moments sometimes! but very smart. shes already pretty much toilet trained and shes only 8weeks old. (probably spoke to soon there..she will do downhill now :p )

dont seem to be to popular a choice of dog it would seem, dunno why. they seem fairly cracking wee dogs!

I don't think I've ever seen one outside of dog shows but I've heard nothing but good things about their temperment although apparently they're eternal puppies. They were one of the base breeds for the goldens right?

I've known several both pets and working.
They have all without fail been wonderful dogs :) and all without fail had a mind of their own and a wee naughty streak ;)
    So be warned :D

oh i realise this already! she sits with this little angelic look on her face, then she turns into this cheeky wee devil running about mad!

she really does have the cutest face though.

we started trying to learn a sit yesterday. but she gets so excited when she sees food her teeth start chattering, its so funny!

She has 3 liver and 4 black so i see them alot! :D

Now for me - the only retriever breed i think i could be persuaded to own would be a curly.... i would love a curly coated retriever!

    bump again

  15. In all honesty i dont know!

I know then the PYO is open they work very hard at clearing any dropped strawberries, helping dig the potatos and finishing any stray childs ice-cream off! - wonderful public service they do! ;)

Big beautiful friendly dogs though - cant fault them for temperament, they actually seem more laid back and friendly than goldies (who are generally considered to be the most laid back of retrievers).
