Defra confirmed it has commissioned new research into gassing badgers using either CO2 or 'foam' to suffocate them inside setts!

Gassing has been banned since 1980 because its so inhumane, badgers cannot be killed quickly in their tunnel system, they could even be heard crying in their setts as the poison took effect!

Cameron vowed yesterday he would see the cull through, if he gets in power in 2015 theres no hope at all for badgers, the cull will be rolled out across the country and tens of thousands will suffer the most horrific deaths imaginable & for absolutely nothing!

David Cameron vows to deliver on badger cull policies | Western Morning News

Sickening, that these methods are even being considered :( Just shows how "bloody" minded this government are....

More sickening that "paid scientists" will provide the blood thirsty criminals the right "data" to justify using these horrific methods.

I pray for the wee furry souls who scurry about our woodlands, unaware of the disgusting men planning torturous deaths....

Jaycee do you have a link to this plz .... i live in a shoot area :( it's not just the shooting i hate , it is the methods of rearing , the pheasants and partridges , they way they are housed until released is horrendous .... There are dozens and dozens on the roadside dead (cars) & (Idiots) ... I'm ok for food for the table , but this is beyond bringing food to the table :( Raptors , in any form are not a threat to wildlife , they take what they need ...

greedy disgusting man , wants rid , to fuel his desire for his own selfish bloodlust ...

Just think what will happen to all wildlife and our pets if there is an outbreak of rabies.

I understand if rabies occurs, the Government can seize/destroy pets not just impose a muzzle and leash policy outside of the garden.

    It's all pretty scary :(

If the government were so worried about rabies, they shouldn't have relaxed the quarantine laws, allowing Eastern European puppy farmers pretty much free access to bring hoardes of sick and underage puppies in the the country.

Regarding the Badger cull, it's nothing to do with rabies, it's the supposed spread of Bovine TB, but there are many other factors contributing to that, that should really be further looked into before this mass murder :( I can't believe they're actually considering allowing such brutal, cruel methods, the sickos...

I can't get my head round why anyone would want to make gassing legal.

I don't understand why it is necessary to cull badgers, can't remember the last time I saw one alive, I came across a road kill a few years ago.

What problem do they actually pose.
