Feeding a vegan dog.

I honestly believe that dogs will or would eat first what their instincts tell them to. I don't think they look at food and decide what looks nice.

If you put down two plates, one containing meat and the other vegetables, I'm sure the majority of dogs would go straight to the meat.

Rudi is allergic to beef, chicken, lamb and turkey. However, she is also allergic to corn, peas, rice, oats, yeast and soya.

I feel that, at this stage, putting a dog on a vegan diet would be an experiment.

I would be very uneasy about experimenting on my dogs.

A long term vegan diet could be beneficial to a dog. Then again, it could be very damaging. We really don't know.

I think it too risky.

But surely. Having your dog castrated or preventing him from killing wildlife is not going to damage his health.

A vegan diet for dogs is an unknown. It's a risk and one I wouldn't be prepared to take.

Well, we don't allow our dogs to run across main roads to greet other dogs, or allow them to jump off cliffs @rottiepointerhouse.

Comparing the things we do to keep them safe and healthy to a vegan canine diet is a little bit silly, in my opinion.

You have chosen for yourself a vegan diet and you have obviously done much research into the subject and devote a lot of time into ensuring your diet is healthy and complete.

You have, however, had the benefit of research done into the benefits and any potential risks connected with a vegan diet and also advice and recommendations from medical professionals.

There really has not been such research or medical studies carried out so far as a vegan diet for dogs is concerned, therefore, I believe it's risky.
