What is your favourite place to walk?
Although I love to go to different places like mountains, beach and moorland, my favourite type of terrain is small fields and woods interspersed with streams or rivers.
I love the fact that you can't see ahead and can turn a corner or come out of a wood and see something different, or bump into an animal of some sort :)

That sounds lovely, unfortunatley i dont have anything as exotic as that around me! :( i just walk in the country side. but there aren't any mountains or forests. i wont walk in the fields in case there are sheep and cattle.

I am more a beach person for walks, i love the sound of the waves and love the feel of the sand in your toes.

Woods just scare me, as the trees and i do think about "people lurking behind the trees":smilewinkgrin:

And i have watched too many scary films like the "blairwitch project" for me to go to the woods. xxxxx

I love walking through woodlands most, but as I live near the beach - the beach at sunrise or sun set when there is no one else there is fantastic:D

Woodlands, with a stream so the dogs can have a swim and I get to sit and watch them with a smoke..
Or the moores where I live are pretty nice, too many boggy bits though heh.

Up here in the lakes we are pretty much spoilt for choice, there's the deer park just down the road, Eaves woods and Gait Barrows which are both a five minute drive away.

Further north into the mountains we have the likes of Grasmere and Buttermere. My two favourite places are Loughrigg terrace above Grasmere and Ghyll head, the latter the perfect place to watch the sun disappear behind the Coniston fells. :D
