I was having this discussion with my very elderly father only yesterday. It came up because Fried Green Tomatoes was on over the w/e and I'd forgotten what a great film it is. He reckoned the two best films of all time were 1. Jungle Book and 2, Citizen Kane. I pointed out he was wrong. The best film of all time is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (no arguments, it just IS). He agreed to move Citizen Kane down to no. 3 :)

i find it extremely difficult to pick a favourite film, theres so many good ones...

but Lord of the rings (trilogy) would be up there, with fear and loathing in las vegas, naked, the matrix (part 1), terminator 2, aliens, team america, fight club... the list goes on and on. I may be ableto pick a favourite film for each genre but i certainly cant pick one overall.

Christian Slater movies - esp. Untamed Heart, Heathers
Johnny Depp - esp. The Tourist, Benny and Joon
    Pretty in Pink
    Moulin Rouge
    All the Harry Potters
    Star Treks
    Perks of being a wallflower

I think Untamed Heart is my favourite - a great combo of a youngish Christian Slater with romance, tears and nature boy.

We would make great flat-mates!!!! Nature boy was played on the radio this morning and I immediately thought of Untamed Heart. A brilliant film - I watched it the first time and rewound the video and watched immediately again!!! :D

Some of mine (because I LORVE movies and Hilda will tell you that we have a lot of them....) would be the following:

Benny & Joon (You're out of your tree... It wasn't my tree!! - just for Plebob :D)
    Untamed Heart
    Dancin' thru the Dark
    I Robot
    Grosse Point Blank
Miracle on 34th Street (Dicky A version)
    The Sound of Music
    Skyfall
    Casino Royale

Those are the ones just off the top of my head and in no particular order..... :D

I enjoyed Taken, Man of fire, What dreams may come, The Boy in the striped pyjamas. There's quite a few which stick in my mind really. I'm not actually a film person, I can't sit still long enough but there have been some which I have really enjoyed watching.

Yes, he plays Charlie - it's a great film and I also couldn't put the book down. It also inspired me to download Heroes!
