Mine are in an Imac fantasy and the bars are the same width so I think they would love a Hamster Heaven, If you are planning to keep 2 the experts reccomend two of everything and if possible not too many levels due to them defending ramps/ladders, so a hamster heaven would really fit the bill.

How about this?... It's the same as the ham heaven with narrower bars

    Savic

I have a ham heaven and i'd be worried about putting one in there too

Yes I reckon they would be very happy in Hamster Heaven. My two Russians couldn't get through the bars anyway especially my male cos he's a little fatty.

i have my pregnant russian (due to pop any mo) in a duna fun and my other 2 female russians in a original duna

    (duna fun)
Buy Ferplast Duna Fun Hamster Cage 55x47x38cm Ferplast Hamster Accessories

    (original duna)
    Ferplast Mini Duna Hamster Cage 21.6'' X 15.3'' X 10.6 - Dabners Pet Shop

i think they are great cages as they are a good size, the original duna doesnt have bars to worry about and the duna fun have small spaced bars. they are also easy to clean and easy to get access inside.

although they are a tad on the expensive side, they will last a long time and would be a good investment.

I think you could put something over it??
    Maybe a bumble pad?
Hammocky Hammocks - Hand Crafted Luxury For Your Pet

Even some lino would do the job... Though i must admit, they are expensive cages

im not willing to pay full price because some are ridiculously priced (im a tight sod)

The box cost £15... I have seen cheaper ones but they are not as sturdy... Plus, this has clips to hold the lid down.
The mesh and fixings come to less than £5 in the range...
SO less than £20 for a huge cage... :D

The box measures almost 80cm in length, its about ths size of my hamster heaven but a fraction of the price

Bin cages are cool, and usually bigger than most shop bought cages, but there is no way I would trust a hamster in anything I made (really not technically minded) Are you gonna post piccies when you finish it.

I'm going to do that for Sausage when I get back to uni and make one that connects to his cage via tubes... but I'm not sure how I am going to cut the top at the moment! So please let me know how you do it :D
