Ermmmmm, hate to be the one to break it to you like this but, we won, you can come back now. Don't tell me you were young at the time and as a private all wet behind the ears you were told to go to the mess and ask for a long stand?
We still have troops out there. Maybe he's one of them?
Looks like it's good he's got lots of company. It is a bit bleak isn't it?
Does he look like you Bordie?
I hope the time passes quickly,
He will soon be back in your arms Bordi ... keep strong
He will soon be back in your arms Bordie ... keep strong
Shall we take the piss out of someone who has family in the 'stan next?
Wow, what a lovely post!
this boy hase served in iraque the falklands is a break for him.one day you may be a man but i dont think so
Hope it goes quickly for you x
I really hoping this was just one of those stupid throw away comments that had no thought behind it and when you come back you will realise just what you've said
I can't believe you meant it as it reads
Hope this works. THis is often suspected to be an urban myth, as it is an amazing story, but it is true, tho told sentimentally, and not bothering with the whole involved story, but apart from the fact that Butch' mother brought him up in St Louis, away from the bad influences, this is what happened. Send best wishes from Oz
Butch was seen as a very unlikely hero. Quiet, thought a bit of a 'slob', at times, quite overweight. Yesterday, Australia's 99th VC winner was made public, from action in 2010, and he reminds me of a everyman version of Prince Harry, even the teeth!!! A sort of suburban version. Before the ceremony, he had to tell his wife what he'd done.
To be honest I opened the thread before anyone else had posted and didn't have a clue what he meant,it wasn't that obvious if you don't know Bordie.
No, that's why I'm hoping that Hutch's post isn't as it seems
if you dont have a clue you dont answer
You must be so proud of him! Hope the time flies by as quickly as possible
Aw he not back yet then. I think it drags for them even more than for us, get the EBlueys sent - Sons bezzy mate was out there all over last christmas and new year known him since he was little lad and missed him loads he calls me mum - my number two boy.
I just think no negative comments should be made on threads like this, I hope the time passes quick bordie and yous can have a laugh when he gets home.
