Just wondered if anyone has an exotic short hair or has had one in the past? If so, what are they like in terms of temperment etc...

Yes we had a black tip exotic he was 16 when we lost him last year and was the most softest boy ever, although he did moult a bit. He was very soft with my daughter and would purr for britian . he was very laid back and didnt get fazed by much. There very much a company cat and dont like being left for to long a time. If you have a look at my profile pics hes the smokey grey cat called Kaspar. There meant to be not that dis similar in temprement as a persian as there known as a lazy mans persian. I would reccomend them maybe a bias. lol.

Being a short haired Persian they have a reputation for being a laid-back breed much like the longhaired variety. Its generally down to the cats that are already behind the pedigree that will determine a kittens temperament and also how well the kitten has been socialised by the breeder.

    I have two!

Mine are far from laid-back lol! They are extremely friendly and loving but very energetic and demand attention all the time which I love.

Baxter is very intelligent and quite a polite little man, whereas his brother Barney is very outgoing and noisy and very skitty!

Both are wonderful cats though and I absolutely adore them :D

I personally wouldn't recommend an exotic.
I have a persian and he's a nightmare. He is very very hairy, the house is always covered in hair, and he sneezes almost CONSTANTLY!! The house needs very regular cleaning as he leaves "sneeze juice" over everything, it's quite gross.
They are placid and great with kids but i'd recommend a british shorthair over an exotic. Much cleaner and still have the same placid nature :)

Thanks for quoting me. ;) I was just about to come in here and delete my post.

There are times when one should just hold one's tongue, and this was probably one of those times.
