Recently iv noticed Flint has been licking things a lot. Like he'll lay on his bed just licking the bed. Or he'll sit and lick the floor

Could this be he's lacking certain supplements?
Iv only noticed it since he's been on raw, but he adores his dinner time, his coat is much shinier and he seems much happier and more energy :)

Any ideas why he's licking excessively ??

Is there any salt in the dog's diet?

All he has is raw now, so no- not really any salt. Could this be what he's lacking?

Is it all the time or just after being fed?

Not just after eating no, sometimes he won't do it for a couple days then the next day its all the time. He's is fed chicken mince, tripe mince, chicken carcasses etc, so not as if something different he eats one day is affecting it I don't think
Today he's only done it once and hasn't done it since.

Louie licks my clothes after drinking and they rub their heads after they've eaten raw.. it could just be something he does.. a little quirk..

Could he be licking where the food has been? Im asuming mince is usually in a bowl, but if its something like a carcass or bone and he has eaten it on the floor, or his bed, wondering if he can smell anything and trying to lick the minutest residue expecially at times he may be hungry, or maybe its the residue on paws he transfers to his bed and then licks because he can smell it. Dont forget y0u might not be able to but their smell is thousands of times better then ours.

I never really thought about this but he does eat his fine meals on his bed and this is the bed he always seems to be licking.
It never clicked coz the other 2 dogs never lick the bed.

    Thank-you :)
