    It's a shame England didn't get through.
Be proud of yourselves for getting this far. Well done.

Gutted. They’ve done so well though, first time in a semi final for ages & we won a penalty shoot out for the first time ever.

Shame but I think Gareth should be proud to have got to the semi`s, maybe on Saturday they will be third in the world! It is sad the last summer world cup for eight years. Its been lovely seeing all the flags and bunting flying in the sunshine, unfortunately in 2022 it is going to be held in the depth of the UK winter, any flags will be hidden amongst all the Christmas crap:(

Shame about the score. But would like to see Croatia win the cup.
Just heard that it's all kicked off in a town centre pub here and police have put a wide cordon around the area.

England could have won. Maybe Croatia concentrated more on this game ? More experienced team too.
Better luck on Saturday... quiet around here...

I'm not a football fan so not really up to speed on the tactics or general gameplay, but I thought ( coming from an inexperienced eye ) that Croatia definitely played better in the second half. They upped the ante and went in harder. Perhaps that is a result of experience or perhaps it was just purely a case of taking the opportunities when they could.

Either way, it must be a great feeling for them making their first ever World Cup final so you can't really begrudge them that.

I do wonder if we will ever be lucky enough to get this far next time or have the same opportunities. I think in some aspects we was lucky with the teams we was up against.

At least now I dont have to live through a lifetime of explaining to people why I didn't watch any of the world cup the year we finally won again.

    Phew.

You was right. Croatia did better in second half, Think some adjustments were made during the break and those ideas worked. Yes, it was a unique opportunity to get to final and I feel we underestimated Croatia. They beat Argentina in very hard , dirty game.
At least this game was fairly clean considering the stakes! Just normal dose of emotions.

I hope the team don’t get lambasted for losing that game.

They did far better than we expected and deserve some praise and support for that - they will be feeling devastated, I’m sure.

    That’s football! ;)

The England team now have a chance to get England in 3rd place. So I hope they keep their enthusiasm and spirits up and train hard to win this game on Saturday. 3rd place is better than nothing.

Have they not? I mean they failed to win. England got this far then decided to lose.

    That’s a bit unfair.

They were under huge pressure and did far better than we dared hope in the beginning.

They will be bitterly disappointed and the last thing they need is to be slagged off by armchair pundits! ;)

True fans support their team when winning and losing! ;)

    That's a bit unfair.
England played extremely well last night and throughout the World Cup. It was so close.
They should hold their heads up high they done their best. They now have a chance to get 3rd place and should concentrate on this now.
I am extremely proud of the England Team.
