dogs not drinking as much

    i recently started my two staffs on a raw diet. i have noticed recently that they seem to be drinkin less.

    is this normal?

    I would think so, yes. I don't feed raw, but mainly a wet diet such as Naturediet and Henry certainly drinks less than when he was on dry food. I've always added warm water to dry anyway - never used to like to feed it dry. Much prefer wet now, though.

    Raw, like wet, has a high natural moisture content so the dog doesn't need to drink as much from their bowl. Much more healthy, imo.

    I noticed the same thing when I switched Rupert and was told by a lot of people that it's perfectly normal.
