My preferred type is a smooth coated, dog-shaped dog without ott exaggerations, mostly mutts. Size negotiable but I usually prefer a darker coat. Basically the opposite of cute and fluffy - no disrespect to cute and fluffy.

As for type my general physical preference is short coat, fit, medium to large, molosser type. I have a heavy preference for brindle.

You can upload 2 different photos, then imbed them.

A line-up of the dogs of my life, past and present. I do think they're largely of a type. Coincidentally they're also all at least partly of German origin [lederhosen emoticon]

I have the same. It should be similar site view as Windows?
Click "upload file", after you upload one you can do another.

If you click "full image" by the pic it will have the full pic embedded in your reply instead of thumbnail to click.

Of course my dogs have had a type... They were all canine and had 4 legs two eyes and two ears....

Ive had mongy Sheba from Battersea, Max the Bouvier/ st bernard cross, teddy (foster) pom, Oscar border collie, Benny beagle and Remy JRT mix (boerenfox) now Murphy.. Each and every one has been a friend, a playmate, a protector, and love on legs !

Not currently, Lyra's my first official dog on my own.

But in regards to the dogs I grew up with then the majority of them were Indian pariah dogs, Combais and random mixes, so 'spose they'd all be similiar types.

Another Schnauzer lover here! Mine's black and hairy and at the moment looks like the black sheep of the family 'cos he needs a haircut!

My other love is my Pei who has the smoochiest, squishiest and most irresistible mush a dog could ever have .... very kissable!

Long haired and not too big. I have had border collies and shelties. Also had a JRT and a collie cross who were short coated. The poodles are whatever I make them so they have shaggy heads an ears and short bodies most of the time.

Any size, collie/GSD/Northern/pariah/sighthound type, smooth faces or minimal hair, dark colours.

Grew up with border collies, a bearded collie & a Yorkie & my mam had Afghans & my nan an Irish setter but I was very young so don't remember them.

Have had a longdog (grey/whippet) & 3 GSDs, currently have a Rottie mix & 2 shepherd type mutts.

Favorite breed is Pit Bull. Correct structure, fit and brindle, tan point or red nose and I'm really in love.

I like other breeds that could be considered similar Cane Corso, Boerboel, Presa Canario, I like Dogo Argentino but the white coat is a big turn off, seen some very nice looking bandogs too. Dry mouth mastiff types are great imo.

I've some exceptions with coat, mainly due to the fact that I like LGDs such as Kangal, Caucasian Ovcharka, Central Asain Shepherd, Karst Shepherd, also appreciate Malinois and Dutch Shepherds.
