Hi guys,

I have a two year old Pomeranian, she is a great dog, and doesn't show any signs of clinginess, anxiety or any of those characteristics. Happy to spend time on her own, and generally very confident.

However, there is one problem she has. If anyone leaves the house, she will bark excessively for 20/30 seconds, very loudly. After this she makes no noise whatsoever, and she never barks when she is alone its only at the point of leaving the house.

It seems to have started when I went away on holiday for a week, that was the beginning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Praps leave a stuffed Kong or similar with her and give it to her a few minutes before you leave the house so that she is well stuck into it when you actually go and make the least possible fuss that you are about to leave as possible. Maybe also leave the house for a few minutes and then return and repeat lots of times so that it doesn't become such a big deal to see you go out through that door.

Thanks for the reply. I dont have a kong but I have some jumbones I can try with her, its really odd shes goes crazy for like a good 20 seconds. After that completely fine.

Sorry for the bump in thread, just cant seem to sort this, been in and out a lot of times, the barking still goes on
