I do/did:lol: Both my children had hand knitted clothes, shawls etc.

I also did them for my nephews and for my Graandchildren.

It lovely to see newborns wrapped in hand knitted cardigans, bootees, hats ets

and snug in a shawl. So warm and cosy not like the things you can buy.

To be honest I wasn't sure if me Daughter would like it, (I did a huge box with lots of cardis etc,) being a "modern" Mum but she adored them and both my Grandchildren wore hand knits.

Not sure if I would do shawls again..they are bloody hard work:lol::lol:

When my eldest nephew was expected I also did the set of scarecrows??? Can anyone remember them?
They were about 12-18" high, there was a set of them.

My sister still has them boxed up somewhere (probably moth eaten in the loft ):(

You can't beat seeing new borns snuggled in white hand knits:thumbup::thumbup:thumbup:

shes currently been off work for over 6 months so went back to knitting because she has a pregnant friend who wanted knitted clothes but didnt know anyone who could knit...

but now shes knitted too many so im trying to convince her to sell them but she doesnt think anyone will buy them :(

shes trying to teach me to knit everytime i go home. I'm awesome! i can make 10 stitches into 60 and knit you a triangle no bother!

    most do!

One of my fave jumpers of my daughters is a handknitted magic jumper. Magic because its fitted her since she was 12mo, looks like new, and still fits now she is 6! It doesnt look stretched or like the knit is gaping! MAGIC!

I will admit to chucking a horrible kermit green ultra chunky vile cardigan i was given for cadan though.... It became a cat blanket

I work on a Neonatal Unit and we have quite a few people who bring knitting in for us! Mostly cardigans and hats, but also bootes, mits and blankets. Any avid knitters out there who don't have anyone to knit for?? - :D
