    Hello

I am getting a cross breed puppy in a few weeks. (I chose a cross breed cos it was the sweetest puppy I saw and also always wanted a mongrel instead of a pure breed for some reason)

Was just wondering if anyone else has the same cross breed as me and could share their experiences?

    Thanks

Sorry not seen that cross before.
I do have 2 of my own crosses, and they are adorable (well I would say that;))
    Congratulations on your new pup.
Any general puppy questions please ask away:)

I have a dodgy picture that I took at the breeder's. I'll definitely post loads on here when I get her! She is very lively and loving which is perfect for our family :)

I think she's going to be called Pixie!

I feel fairly confident about training her, but am a bit nervous about housetraining... Any tips?:)

What a strange cross, never heard of that before!

I dont know much about min pins but i know frenchies can be VERY headstrong. They are stubborn and need real discipline and training from day 1. I've seen some dodgy temperments at shows (sorry frenchie people, its by no means all, but i've seen a fair few going for each other!) so lots and lots of socialisation, as you should for any dog. I would take her to a training class ASAP as they are fantastic for socialisation.

Are you planning to crate her? I would advise it for the first few weeks/months until she is housetrained and less likely to eat your house.

Re housetraining, i tend to use puppy pads, but i know a lot of people dont like them. The main thing is to make sure to let her out plenty. Last thing at night, first thing in the morning, after a meal - just get her in the habit of going into the garden regularly and make a fuss of her when she has a pee/poo :D

    Cool thanks

I am planning to crate train, yes. So hopefully that will minimise any problems! I had heard that Frenchies were quite placid from some website or other. But we shall see!

I am hoping to take her to puppy classes. :) I am up for the challenge!! Lol

Sounds like you are going to do fine :D

Some frenchies are lovely, my friend has one and he has the most perfect temperment, he's lovely. Its all down to lines and how you raise them though, if you socialise Pixie plenty, as you should with any pup, im sure she will be a lovely pet :D

    Thanks!

I was pleased to see how well socialised she already was at the breeders- she was very gentle with me but also friendly. She comes from quite a big litter and is being brought up with another litter at the same time so she is used to other dogs, not just her direct family... They all seemed to listen to the breeder too! So I have my fingers crossed.

Min pins are very active and very smart good luck with that. I don't know much about frenchies though congrats on your new addition.
