Just thought i would get a poll going on here so we can see who breeds and who doesnt and why.
you can actually do a proper poll if you want and all the results will be together at the top of the page.
lol i hadnt finished it before it appeared
hee hee I did that once
not sure what to vote, I used to breed border collies but havent for a fiew years, I have a bitch thats 1 year 3 months and a 7 month old dog with a view to breeding again if they prove suitable when old enough. So it depends on this.
lol i forgot a 'i dont breed but i intend to' lol
hee hee not to worry
I don't undrstand the categories where it refers to 'am KC registered' ?? Breeders are not KC registered breeds are? Do you mean havea registered kennel name/affix?
I ticked the first option as it was the only one mentioning showing and breeding?
I ticked the top one too
yes that is what i meant, just didnt want to make the questions too long winded
The top one for me too
number 6 for me some of my girls are, and due to be spayed.
Thing is, iv'e bred a couple of quality litters with my breed over the 20 odd years ive owned them.
I may breed another one day, who knows? .
so just ticked num 6 for now.
maybe you should of added..
used to breed kc dogs?
or..used to breed and show kc dogs?
We breed Border Collies but we're ISDS (International Sheepdog Society) Reg'd and therefore don't fit into any of the poll categories
i ticked the first option but wasnt sure if you ment accredited breeders ,which i cant be bothered with ,as long as i abide by my breed clubs guidelines i dont see why i should give the kc anymore money
That is just how I feel, my breed clubs code of ethics is much stronger than the KC requirements so why should I line the KC's pockets to prove I am doing less than I have always done.
Now if they gave Ethical breeders a discount on their fees for having high standards then I could see the point.
After all most serious breeders pay every year to keep their affix going, that's money for nothing. Some people have an affix and don't even breed and what does the kennel club give them for their money each year?
I used to show and breed but gave up, my last litter was nearly 5 years ago and my girls are all spayed now.
I don't breed and I wouldn't at the mo as pepsi is 9 , I wish I did when she was younger she has a wonderful temperment and has lovely markings,
No not at mo but I may look to in the future. ( not with pepsi )
We was thinking of using our short haired black and tan Chihuahua as a stud dog but we are not sure yet.
Georgie and dino have been done.
I have bred two foals and that was stressfull enough!
we also ticked the top box.
