I have tried everything I can think of yet particles are sandblasted onto cups and glasses mainly in the top rack.

Any ideas why this might be happening - do I need a new dishwasher?? :scared:

Only thing I can think of is that it could be a limescale problem. I think you can get solutions that you put in the dishwasher and run an empty cycle to clean it. May be worth a try.

Ight be blocked in the top spray arm. I get this every so often, normally just before the salt light comes on. I used limescale remover once every 6 weeks or so as in hard water area xx

I have the same.... I put thick bleach drirectly in and pour 4/6 pints of really hot water into the bottom of the dishwasher, then put it on the hottest cycle.

Does you dishwasher have any salt?

Mine does this if the salt has ran out.

Where you put the tablet in, there should be a plug bit to put the salt into. ;)

Hi, Thanks for all your replies - great help as always:thumbup:

We live in a soft water area and I have never used salt but put some in last week after cleaning it with a shop cleaner and a cup of vinegar.

OH checked the "arm" and cleared that as well.

Havent tried the bleach idea - how much do you put in??

Not been sacked yet either  Have that to look forward to and I will be delighted

I suppose it may be worth getting some calgon just incase.

Blinking thing is driving me mad as well as OH making me feel like I am doing it deliberately grrrrrr!!!:scared:

We used the Finish Dishwasher Cleaner once every 3 weeks, and unclogg the holes in the arms, also empty the filter at the bottom coz if that is clogged with excess food it will shoot it up to the top of the washer. Perhaps you dont need the salt as you are in soft water area and it is not dissolving properly, we used salt as we are in Hard Water area.

May be I havent given it a clean cycle often enough in the past. All the other filters have had good cleans etc. and I've only just started using salt.

Perhaps I will try the bleach idea and if that doesnt work then run it thro several Finish cleans and hope that does it.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

What tablets are you using? With our old dishwasher we couldn't use those fancy tablets that you don't need to unwrap, because they left a scum over everything. The new dishwasher doesn't seem bothered by them though.
