Come up wiv next for me to have  .

It seems to be one thing after another at the minute so not fair!

I have my 1st appointment coming through the post and have to see both at the same time, my GP & a Nurse!

I havent got a clue what to expect, but my GP has asked me to do a Food Journal, yeah rite i have trouble keeping diary's let alone owt else!

At the minute im hoping it is going to be manageable by diet alone!

I know theres a lot of members that have this, what do i expect from my 1st appointment please?? Thank you in advance.

See Mark I DO NEED MY OWN HEALTH STICKY PWWWWEEEEZEE LOL.

    Hi
I am type 2 since april 1st of this year! Still controlled by diet alone!
I have cut down on all carbs, cut down on potatoes, rice, pasta,
No fruit juices of any kind unless you suffer a hypo!
I have also cut all fizzy drinks except pepsi max!
No ambrossia cream rice as too many carbs!
Okay you need to remember you need at least three meals a day!
As if you don't excuse the term your liver will cause you to have a liver dump this will put your blood sugar up!
The first thing you need to know is where you go from here with your Gp!
I asked for full diabetic bloods being done!
I bought myself a blood testing machine so i can track my own blood sugar!
There is so much to learn about the condition!
Your doctor should be able to offer some advice!
One thing you will be able to tell when your blood sugar is high you will find you feel very tired!
I hope this helps in some way! I am still learning myself!

I know someone who has just been diagnosed with type 2. For the first appointment they will give you medication whether your too high or too low, and give you a kit to test you with. Nothing major for first visit, and they may do blood tests. They had a blood sugar of 67, and was rushed to hospital.... he is a medical marvel since he was still standing!

Aww hun I don't know what to say but diabetes is horrible :(

My biological father has type 1 diabetes (has to inject himself) and my step father has type 2 (pricks his thumb to keep an eye on his sugar levels).

I have type 2, Luckly i don't take anything! Other than using and checking my blood sugar up to 6 times a day! Depends on what i have being all day!
My mum was type 1. My dad was type 1.
Luckly i am type 2! I used to have to inject my mum and keep a eye on her!
