My friend has a spaniel pup whlich seems to be quite unresponsive to We wonder if she is deaf, but dont have the first idea what to do about it. How can we prove it? Is there a test?

    Any information gratefully received.

I've worked with a lot of spaniels over the years but never met a deaf one, I've met quite a few who pretend to be deaf, they are busy dogs, with lots goingon, but get the pup checked at the vets if your friend is worried

They could go to a specialist to have it BAER hearing tested.

I have known a few elderly deaf spaniels, and suspect because of the heavy floppy ears that make them prone to infection, that over time the hearing is damaged.
