A few weeks ago on the way back from our walk, I noticed Oscar was messing with one of his paws. When I had a look, he had cut one of his paw pads and taken a couple of layers off it (around 1cm in circumference). I guess he did it on a bramble.

He was rested for around a week, until his paw was better.

We then started walking him again, but a week later we've noticed two more cuts (on different pads). They are red raw and seem to be hurting him.

Just after reassurance really that this is happening because he is catching himself on things - and not something more sinister.

We're just keeping them clean and putting socks on him - is a vets visit warranted?

He's not running on concrete is he? Are they cuts or has he taken the skin off his pads?

I usually wash with a saline solution and then apply veterinary wound powder but if your dog has deep cuts then ifs probably advisable to take him to your vet.
