Hi, I am new to this forum and am looking for advice from other dog owners who have had cruciate surgery. I have been told today that my dog has likely cruciate ligament damage to both knees. She has had x rays and joint taps done today at a cost of £480. I have been told that each knee wil cost between £2000-£2500 and my insurance will only cover part of this. does this price sound right?

It is right for TPLO, there is a cheaper option though the results would rule this option out for a younger dog in my opinion.
Having said that, I went for that option on my Goldie at 8 years old, however, he had only done one leg.

TPLO or TTA would be the best option for a double surgery I would think.

my local vet has recommended a second opinion as she thinks the price sounds very steep, so I am contacting one in lancaster
