Just had to take my 11 yr old beagle in to vets as she has a very hard painful tum this morning he thinks it could be a spinal or blocked bladder problem. She was in a lot of pain bless her. Has any one else had anything like this?

Just spoke to the vet and he thinks she has bone growths on her spine and is going to send of her x rays to the orthapedic vets. He said to check how much the insurance will go to as she may need a spinal op. Not sure that would be fair on a dog her age :(

It may not come to that (hopefully). We had a GSD who had bone growths on her spine. Most of her lower spine eventually fused together. Because it causes pressure on the nerves she did have to have a fair bit of pain relief medication but she lived a happy life until the very end. She wasn't able to bend her body in tight places to turn round but soon learned to reverse!

Best of luck and I hope she's OK.
