Albeit our 15 week German Shepherd Puppy gets LOADS of access to the house during the day (plus exercise/walks) there are times where we just need to 'pop him' somewhere for an hour or so (so we can do some work etc!). Unfortunately (unlike previous pups) he just loves to chew and be mischievous where they didn't. Some of the time we put him in kitchen but its not ideal when we have the pots on the stove etc (didnt realise how high he can jump!). I have the view that MAYBE a large dog crate would be suitable for the quiet work period or when we need to cook etc. Anyone suggest a reasonably priced crate (who to buy from etc).
    Thanks

I got a medium sized one which is pretty big from Argos for £49.99

Wilkies do that size for £45 which looks better quality than argos but it was 3 days delivery so i had to opt for the Argos one.

I got a second hand one off ebay for a tenner.
Sailor is never shut in it tho, I just leave the door open to it and when he sees me lavishing all my attention on the duster and hoover, he lays in his crate and sulks

Right now his crate and bedding are outside in the sunshine, getting abit of an airing, and he is lay in it, protecting it , I think he thinks, if he gets out of it the tiny dog next door will jump the 8 ft fence and steal it

I went on ebay. Got a 30" crate for £17, and at Crufts I got a 24" crate for £10. However, with a GSD you'd need a lot bigger crate that what I've got.

I used Canine Concepts to get my new cage. They have a good range and the prices are probably cheaper than Pets at home.

I bought Logan's last one (very large) from ebay, brand new for £45.00 delivered to the door. It is a black 2 door one and looks really smart, it is very sturdy too.

Just a thought, have you considered a puppy pen, rather than a crate.

My crate was £3 from local charity shop, never measured it, but it's big.:)

ebay, you can get a massive 42" crate for under 40 quid brand new , and at the moment theres one seller doing them with a free bed and lint rollers for that price. we bought our smaller one for pups off there , and ive just had a XL puppy pen( with 42" high sides) for just over £40 delivered and its brill, though i wouldnt advise the pen with an older pup if he can jump , and also unless you attach it to the wall or somethiing they are quite easy to move around.

we have both crates and the pen here , as we can use em when camping as well as in the house... well worth training em to like one whether you end up using it daily or not
