Went up in to the Cotswolds yesterday and although it was foggy so I couldn't see a lot or take any sharp pics more than a couple of yards away, there were a few things worth sharing.

Stone walls are an ecosystem in their own right. They should be protected! They have many lovely things living on them. Unfortunately the one of the two pheasant ladies looking sideways at the owl didn't come out - they leapt on to the wall, and then saw the owl, and their faces were a picture.

This yellowhammer was singing away beside us.

Not sure what was up with this kestrel. I think it was more than simply wet as it didn't dry out anymore than this in three hours. Also it wasn't as wary of us as it should have been - more obsessed with preening. I hope it managed to sort itself out eventually.

Used to go there very regularly until they started charging for the car parking. Lovely views from the top, watched the solar eclipse from there years ago, it was fascinating to watch it gradually go dark and all the street lights come on in Cheltenham.

For reasons that are beyond me, I have only just discovered it. I shall be back in the summer as they claim an astonishing amount of butterflies present on the site.

Really lovely pics, especially the first two. I love moss & lichen, they can be so pretty.
