Purely out of interest what would you get if you mated a blue self boy and a golden tipped spotty girl, Someone contacted me about using my stud but i was unable to help her with predictions as i dont have much knowledge of the tipped/spotty BSH.

I believe the queens mum was a black tipped, and my boy carries choc/lilac.

    Thanks

From that mating then you would most probably get all brown tabbies and brown spotted tabbies unless the golden girl carries dilute which will be very unlikely if she has the usual golden pedigree full of 75 (goldens), 39 (black tipped) and chinchilla persians further back.

A golden is genetically 'black' and 'tabby' for the purposes of what they pass on. They rarely carry other traits due to the breeding policies although I know a number of breeders working on blue goldens the dilute form but they are using imports to achieve this.

My good friends are behind the drive to get them registered with the GCCF :)

I'm really into the silver shadeds and tipped etc as my stud boy is a silver shaded and 3 of my neuters are a red smoke, red tipped silver and a blue shaded
