I have been wondering about this for a while as both my cats go outside and the newest addition will be too once she is old enough.

I have always been a bit scared of collars on outdoor cats since my husband told me his cat when he was younger got caught on a nail on a fence post by her collar and got pretty badly I mired trying to escape.

Any I just been silly over one freak accident or am I right not to out collars on them I just don't know!

I personally wouldn't collar my cats but I only have one outdoor goer left now, the rest are indoor kitties!!!

I would ensure the cat is chipped and neutered.

I wouldn't use a collar on Cuddles as she is a neutered indoor cat who has also been microchipped in case she manages to escape out of the balcony door.
