I would recommend you search for someone who health TESTS (not checks) the parents for inherited problems.
Check the Kennel Club website for tests relevant to each breed.
Have a look on Champdogs website for possible ethical breeders

Unfortunately there are unethical breeders who have jumped on the bandwagon of the popularity of this crossbreed so be wary. Alao be aware that many of them shed and the sizes can vary according to the poodle used in the cross.

There won't be crossbreeds listed on Champdogs.

As above though, see if you can find a breeder doing the relevant health tests on both sire and dam. Both breeds suffer from inheritable eye diseases which could lead to blindness at an early age, so worth finding a breeder who tests for these conditions

Although still not recognised as a breed as such, there are now cockapoo clubs you should find info on there regarding health testing and how to find a decent breeder.

There is also the Doodle trust they rescue and rehome the various doodles, cockapoos and other poodle crosses and also have a lot of good info on their website under education section.

Please be aware that some of the breeders approved by the Cockapoo Club are large scale commercial breeders, I would avoid those & research one of the smaller 'hobby' breeders to ensure their ethics are acceptable.
