I now have 3 cats with this...

My little Bing Bong ( as i lovingly call him) has been at the vets today for bloods.
I think i knew this by his behaviour but im still sad and was hoping it wasn't this.
Im actually quite devastated at the moment to think eventually 3 of my babies are going to come to a horrible end. I'm sorry if this sounds dramatic but thats how i feel right now and i have no one who really understands.
He is also being tested for thyroid as well. :(

Sharonschild - I'm really sorry to hear this news - I've only had to cope with ckd once but I do understand some of what you're experiencing.

    Sending hugs.

So sorry to hear this. My dear old lady cat had this in the end but to be truthful it was only the last two days of her 17 years when she was really bad and when I knew it was decision time. She had the best life and, in my opinion, the best death because at least she didn't suffer, we knew when her bloods were off the scale that it was the kindest decision. Always horrible. :(

oh Sharon I am sorry to hear this.
I presume you have signed up to tanya's CKD site as it gives vaste amounts of information about the condition.
I do think it is worth while doing lots of research into diets....I know vets still advise a low protein diet but I really am not convinced this is always necessary especially in early stages.
many many cats do of course jog along just fine with compromised kidneys for many years so i hope that Bing and your other two are in this category.
