    All of these are so sad. Even now when my grandson (8 yrs old) is here he knows to get me up, and not even let the lab puppy out of her x pen unless I say. Its better to be safe than sorry...

    the thing that always blows my mind, jill, is how bloody casual ppl are about their dog + their kid together;
    many parents think nothing of leaving the child[ren] and dog in the yard for 30-mins or more, without so much as peeping
    out the window to see what they are DOING -
    which puts the dog at risk from the kid as much as any child from a dog.

    it's frightening, really - and yes, so sad. :( makes my heart ache, and makes me disgusted + angry with the adults, too.

    When David is here he won't even go into the xpen with the 6 week olds in it. He waits for me to let them out and I tell him to sit on the floor so he doesn't step on them by accident. Kids move so fast and jerky, it's scary for a dog too. I know if he's in the backyard I bring in the lab pup cause she can always figure out a way into the big area. The other dogs stay in there own fenced area and are happy not to be in the way of the toys cars bikes etc. They bark if someone walks by the back so I know to check on him and thats good. Don't trust too many humans now a days...Thanks for the links Terry
