He's making such great progress, I'm so proud of him! We've been going to confidence workshops for the last 4 or 5 weeks, and each time he's managed to have only one reaction. Last week he was trying to invite another dog to play! Granted, it was in his own special way, which is to bark at them until they agree (and they didn't!), but this is still huge. Last week we also set up Ernie, the stuffed stooge dog; Fidget walked right up to its face, tail very high and stiff, and had a bit of a stand off. When Ernie didn't respond, he walked away.

This week, he did even better. His only reaction was to a Rottie, and it was a total owner fail :Facepalm He was super excited to see Nat, and I let him bounce up to her...and he bounced right into his discomfort zone. He recovered really well though, and minutes later he watched 2 dogs + the Rottie walk by, he even turned to me for treats.

Then we got Ernie out again, and this happened:

    How amazing is this!

Stupendously brave :D He slept for the rest of the evening; being brave is tiring work.

Thanks :) He is a very brave boy; 2017 is starting out well for him.

I have never seen him so relaxed around another dog before. I think he might have figured out that he was an imposter after the sniff, but everything up to that was so lovely to watch. And there were people watching him, so there was extra scaredy-factors, but he braved it out like a champ :D

He lurves the praise :D Treats are good, but you tell him he's a clever boy and his tongue falls out of his face with joy :Smuggrin

I wish my dogs were half as well trained as Ernie :Shifty
