Can anyone tell me what a Cavachon Shih Tzu Mix dog is called. We are going to look at pups this week and can’t find any info about this.
I understand that a Cavatzu is a Cavalier Shih Tzu mix. They’ve been described by the breeder as Cavachon pups.

Not being facetious - but - a mongrel.

Nothing wrong with mongrels, but no need for fancy names. If you are considering buying though, have the parents been tested for heart conditions and Syringomyelia, which are big problems for Cavaliers.

Definitely a real mongrel. Dont forget the pups could turn out looking like anything. They could look like one of the breeds they are mixed with or nothing like any of them. Cavachon is not a breed either, it is a crossbreed so whatever the mother looks like is probably nothing like the rest of her family.

Thank you. We will take your advice and ask about testing. It seems to be a minefield out there with prices also sky high

    Have you looked in rescue?

If you’re looking at cross breeds there will be plenty of all sorts, I’m sure.

Someone breeding such mixes is highly unlikely to be top notch tbh.

The kind of pup that puppy farmers churn out because of high public demand for cute, designer dogs with fancy names.

Even more so because of Lockdown pups bought on a whim.

Rescues expect to be inundated once the novelty wears off and reality kicks in.

    And they won’t cost thousands.

And with a bit of luck, will be house trained.
