I presume that the boxes are made from pieces of mdf and cover in carpet like material. So we need...

    MDF
    Carpet Glue
    Hammer and Nails...
    Oh and carpet stuff

I'm considering doing it too. I'm actually thinking of doing it in a Catrix Cat Scratcher style. Tubing is cheap and I could get the same width as theirs and then could buy bits like tunnels from them if I couldn't do it. It also means I could always add to it.

I would bet you would need non toxic carpet glue too.

We sell 10mm sisal rope on our website, far superior to the often advertised 5mm.

I wanted a cat tree but was put off by the price. However, I found a brand new one on ebay that was supposedly "damaged" However, the damage was only a slight bend in the top bed part (IYSWIM) so I bid on it......
I actually won it for £8.99 plus P & P and it is absolutely fantastic!!!!! It's taller than me (and I am 5'4"!) the kittens love it to bits and TBH it is too big for our landing (which is where I keep it for now)
Might be worth having a look for a damaged one, cos even if it was a bit damaged, it might be cheaper to repair than make one???
    Just an idea!
