Im sure you guys will tell me thats its nornal behaviour, but Ralph our 2 Year old Male for the last Month or Two Is staying out almost Litrally all the time, only coming In to Eat or if we are lucky a quick Meow and a Cuddle and then hes off out again all Day and Night.

Hes a good boy and always come In when I call him, which means he doesnt go far as I just stick my head out the Kitchen window and call him and within a few Minuits hes Home.

Maybe the time of Year? He didnt do this last Summer but he sort of new to going outside then, we also keep having Birds and Mice left on the Patio, he has brought something Home almost everyday for the last Month.

You're right, it is normal behaviour for some cats. Its just the time of year and the warmth which means they want to stay outside more. My girl is much the same, she goes out first thing in the morning and most days, at the moment, she stays out until early evening but once she comes in for tea, its lockdown, she doesn't get the opportunity to stay out all night.

Yours is obviously a hunter if he's constantly bringing things home.

@wylde99 : Hi! I seem to recall one of yours being hit by a car last year? I would seriously try to keep him/them in at night if possible which is when they are most at danger in the dark. It's very difficult with some of the young boy cats who are very keen to go out, I know. Is Ralph the one who was hit . . . how is he?

Yep, Lola is spending much more time outside, as did my last cat! As would I if I weren't sat at work.

She normally finds shade to stay in and will spend some time with me on the outside sofa (which is nice), if I'm gardening he's often about and chases me around the garden of an evening when I'm watering... (she still gets shut in at night though, so far successful)

Yes, I have seen a lot of cats out and about lately. A lot more than usual. My kitty is indoor only but she's become very independent in the summer and is spending lots of time sitting on the window sill looking out of the window.
I am sure he'll be back to normal when it cools down. Cats originate from Africa so it makes sense that they are more wild and independent in hot weather

I think my cats missed this memo, they are much more needy and are clinging to me like limpets. Not fun when I've got a 6kg, poofy lummox trying to park his backside on my lap  :Hilarious

Sykes hasn't really been in since April - she insists on having her meals and sleeping in the cat run (they do have a good fleece filled den in there). I forced her to come in last night during the thunderstorm and she was not impressed - she was stomping about and meowing like mad until it stopped and I let her back out.

She probably won't come in until October. I don't mind as she's secure in there so I don't worry about her but I wouldn't allow it without a run, there's too much trouble they can get into.
