I have an 11 year old male cat. For many years he has eaten really well, also popping into neighbours for snacks and meals. Over the last 4 weeks I’ve noticed he’s not eating much, so this week asked the two neighbours to stop feeding him (one of which said he refused his last snack anyway). He seems interested in food, but has a couple of bites here and there, eating a maximum of a pouch or ¼ can a day. I’ve tried three flavours of his usual, as well as two different brands so far.

He still has a wet nose and his teeth were fine at his annual check up in January. He was wormed then. Hard to tell if he has lost weight as he’s loosing his thick winter coat. Personality wise he seems fine in himself. During the winter I've noticed he's occasionally had runny eyes, but this is intermittent and clears after being cleaned. I will continue to monitor him until Friday before making a vet’s appointment, but just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what could be up or ways to stimulate appetite.
