Let me know what they like to do and eat and I can give some suggestions. York is brilliant - there is so much choice they definitely wont be disappointed.

But without knowing, places I would recommend to eat are Lucia (Italian), Tomahawk (Steak), Sora (Japanese), The Ivy (British). @ewelsh recommends The Whippet Inn but we haven't gone yet - looks very nice. Theres Tommy Banks Roots too if they want something very flashy

Salads all week this week, too hot to cook. I just bought loads of different salad bits and it’ll be a bit of a mix and match depending on what I feel like. Tonight’s offering is quiche with a mixed green salad (lettuce, cucumber, celery, onion) tossed with garlic mayo and Parmesan.

I'm very tempted by a Gozney dome. Would you recommend one? I wondered if the gap into the oven restricts cooking thinks like roasts?

Hi @BarneyBobCat sorry for not getting back, currently in France kayaking the Ardeche 😊. It’s a great bit of kit and is the best pizza oven we’ve had. Yes there is a limit to cooking anything high, but we’ve successfully cooked spatchcock chicken and butterfly lamb. We put the meat on a low cast iron grill.
Thick steak on the skillet is good too 😊😊😊

Chicken souvlaki tonight. Not quite the same cooked under the grill but tasty all the same.
