A thread to discuss cookery and all the gadgets that none of us need but have to buy! I keep thinking about a Ninja foodie - do I really need it? My larder is already full of unused equipment

I had sherry last night at our tapas night at a friend’s - two sorts of light (much too dry for me) and then a dark, syrupy one which was much nicer. One of our friends works in wine, so she always gets fancy stuff. I don’t drink wine so she doesn’t know what to do with me!

I then was ex-communicated as I said I preferred Harvey’s Bristol Cream :)

No one wants my potato vodka recipe then?!? I looked it up, there's cooking and yeast involved too normally.

After tidying up, and special trip to the bin, I did manage to make a fabulous cottage pie, enough for 5 extra servings. Reheats lovely.

That’s great @Jaf - are you feeling more confident about trying things at the moment? I was proud of husband last night, he ate three olives (he dislikes them greatly), two of which were on a stick with a fresh anchovy fillet (which he has never had but strongly disliked the thought of), topped with red onion salsa verde thing. Lovely! Well to me - not him but still, he tried it :)

We just had savoury mince and mash, essentially deconstructed cottage pie. Delicious!

Nah @Mrs Funkin still hopeless. I have olive trees, but don't think I'd like an olive. Apparently olives are often more palatable as one gets older, I've only managed the oil. Very difficult to avoid olive oil over here! It's lovely on toast.

Anchovy are the little fish on a pizza, right? Why @BarneyBobCat does the stick matter?

Geri likes cottage pie too!

Hello Emma,

You can try this tip to get creamier almond milk:
Soak the nuts for 4 hours before using.
Use one full scoop of almonds
Don’t use roasted almonds

We look forward to your feedback.

Best Regards,
Peace

I will give it a go and let you know if its creamier x

I am definitely super tempted, and my husband is definitely sold - I said I was asking you some questions earlier and he was eager to hear what your responses were seconds after I posted them 😁

Very pleased to hear about the salt. I try not to have salt in most things.

I jut had the most delicious dinner. Chilli and lime salmon fillets, roasted baby potatoes and asparagus (roasted in the same tin and olive oil as the potatoes). You wouldn't have liked it though @SbanR - definitely more salt than I should have had but it was lovely.
