What carriers do you use and or recommend, as really need a new one as didn't realise that one of our carriers had become brittle and almost crumbled when husband picked it up and the one underneath that wasn't in as much light in the shed was in better shape but a piece of it broke today in the vets so need a new one, they were 16 years old so possibly time for a new one.

I'd prefer a rigid one I think, my last ones were ferplast ones so functional but not pretty, I still like the Catit Cabrios but worry about building it and the weight of it, or a Curver Basket style one, too many choices, help

The one I prefer (and which is used by Cats Protection) is one like this

they are very sturdy and strong - I've had mine for over 20 years (probably nearer 30 years !) and it's still as good as when I bought it - at the time I bought it I had a cat who could escape from anything, a real Houdini of a cat but he never could get out of this one :D

Well unsurprisingly I have gone for the catit one as fancied a change from the atlas ones, and I know the wire coated ones are good but it would have to have a cover as puss cat would panic being outside in one so open.

I must admit I do like the catit cabrio carriers. They are the right size for Mosi and Kito and they work well for me with the bit that you can open because it allows me to put my hand in and stroke them while in the waiting room. I think that helps Kito a lot. Wouldn’t work with a cat who was quite strong and tried to get out, but my boys just sit in there not trying to escape! They are top opening which is useful at the vets. I don’t put them in that way as they are awkward to close but at the vets (when they’re not wanting to get out!) we open them at the top and they can be examined in the carrier.
