[Maggs]

Hi everyone, Maggs has been teething for over a month, and there are only canine teeth left to change. A couple of days ago we got rid on the bottom two by pulling the rope, but her upper two are not even moving yet, and new teeth are coming through quite a bit now just next to them. I m thinking to ring the vet up and go see them on Monday, just wanted to ask whether they can pull those teeth straight then or would we need more than one appointment? Also does anyone have an idea how much it would cost (we go to Vets for Pets)? Thanks!

It's not uncommon to see the adult teeth start to come through and still have puppy teeth there. Tau had a canine that stayed for two weeks after the adult tooth had fully come through. Just keep an eye on it, give her a few frozen type treats, carrots are a good one, if you feed raw at all that can help with shifting puppy teeth.

Thanks for your reply, I m just worried whether it would change the direction adult teeth grow into... Would prefer to avoid the vet, she just had a carrot will keep giving her those.

Frozen carrots and flavoured ice cubes are best, they are soothing and nice and hard to help push the teeth loose.

Tau's teeth are perfick, and Zasa her daughter has good dentition as well, despite her canines lingering, although not quite as long as her mum's. They turn a sort of grey colour inside because they're dead, and sometimes if your pup manages to break off most of the top the bottom bit can still remain sticking out of the gum for a few days. Just keep checking it, it is good practise in any case to get your pup used to you looking in and checking their mouth, and everywhere else for that matter.

Sam's canines did exactly this and the adult teeth were pretty much fully through before the baby teeth came out. Try not to worry I'm sure they'll come out soon
